Decklists: Three Colour “Shards”
Three Colour – “Shards”
White-Blue-Black “Esper” – NOT Merieke Ri-Berit (Deck? What deck?)
Up until recently this was going to be my one and only “griefer” deck, for when I was up against really hard-core tuned death machine decks, heavy with permission and with a million and one ways to use your own cards against you. Then I played against one that was exactly like this and very nearly lost the will to live. I really don’t know who the general is going to be for this one now – I like Sen Triplets as a toned down version of Merieke, but Halfdane and Ertai as well. I know this will NOT be Merieke, Sharuum or Zur.
My silly Vampire tribal. I spent a bit of time figuring out how to utilise each one of Garza’s abilities, but gradually I am removing the “pinger” style of cards (which were supposed to grow Garza, but don’t, really) and just putting more Vampires in. This deck is pretty light on blue stuff, since the only Vampires which are blue (and in the deck) are Garza and Blood Tyrant. Once again I have a bunch of stuff I want to get and put into here, starting with Prince of Thralls, and Unscythe. This is the deck with all three “… of Empires” artifacts. It’s also the only deck where I put a different picture over the original art, since it’s HIDEOUS.
Where Savra is all about sacrificing my creatures to keep yours off the table, this one is all about sacrificing them to get some kind of profit for me. I designed this deck to be somewhat wrath-resistant, although it does rely on having Sek’Kuar in play most of the time. I suddenly realised the other day that Lyzolda fits in here perfectly so will be slotting her in at some point in the very near future.
HULK SMASH! This was the first deck I built – like a lot of people – and it has morphed slightly from being simply about dropping as many big fat fatties into play to be a more controlly, techy type build. Although this is currently the only deck of mine to feature Chain Reaction, I really rate that card very highly (maybe not quite as good now we have Blasphemous Act, but still basically says “Kill Everything”. If you don’t have a big goofy grin on your face when you’re playing this deck, you just plain don’t love Magic. Mayael, what is good in life? “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.”
Green-White-Blue “Bant” – (probably) Rafiq of the Many (Deck not built)
This is the second general (next to Sen Triplets) that I’m not completely sold on. I love the idea of a good Rafiq deck, and will probably be building it anyway, but everyone building a deck in these colours builds Rafiq, and their deck will probably look very similar to my deck. (Which, if you’ve been paying attention to my occasional rants, is something I hate). I’m currently taking options for who/what else this could be, although it’s pretty low down on my build list. Just don’t suggest Pheldagriff – he’s fun and cool, but we’ve had a Pheldagriff deck in our group already, so that’s been done, kinda.
